Seagate today provided an updated outlook on the future of the hard drive. The company nearly tripled today’s highest storage density and believes that 275 GB capacities will be realistic for future Ipods, while desktop computers will be able to store up to 2.5 TB on one drive.

Samsung’s been hogging the Solid State Disk limelight for months with their 32GB SSD first peeped at CeBIT. So it does our invisible hand some good to hear TDK launch their version of the 32GB SSD, albeit in sample quantities only for the time being.

Noise is always a concern with HTPC design because it directly impacts the living room media experience. We used passive cooling where possible, and the quietest components we could find. Cooling and power consumption go hand in hand, so we selected efficient, low-power components where appropriate. We didn’t want this HTPC to be a slug either.

Very good review highlighting the image quality differences between this card and ATi’s x1900XT. This passively cooled card overclocks to very impressive speeds, but ultimately falls short of the value offered by the ATi x1900xt options.

A positive review by ExtremeTech on Norco’s DS-1220 storage box. Twelve SATA drive racks in one box and twelve 750GB drives are included (that’s 9TB of space people)!! Quite an amazing device, and somewhat reasonably priced at around $850. Come on you know you want one!
