In an interview with Mark Bohr, Dailytech squeezed a few more details about the 45nm Penryn processor. Of particular interest, the new CPU will use SSE4, uses a different gate technology and works in existing motherboards.

Steve Saleen, the legendary Mustang tinkerer, is putting together 25 custom Mustangs for a cross-country road rally called “The Great American Run.” The Mustangs will each be tuned to 600 hp, have a 0-60 time of under 4 seconds and a top speed of over 200 mph. The winner of the race will receive one and Saleen’s already sold 11 to participants.

Long-lasting near-infrared LEDs could be used to make cheap, flexible night-vision displays and sensors. Such a display could be integrated into a soldier’s uniform or a device that could be stashed in a pocket, allowing soldiers to read communications at night without being spotted by enemy snipers.

What’s stopping this all from happening immediately? Two things, monetization of content and a simple, ubiquitous TV/internet convergence device. For certain, any company who manages to solve either of those problems and catch the wave of public acceptance is headed for a big payday.
