At last - a UMPC that looks like it isn’t going to suck. The new Samsung UMPC, labelled the Q2 sports a nice high resolution 1024×600 display, plenty of RAM and an Intel processor. It’s also got WiBro and a QWERTY keyboard. Pictures included!

Yeah, that Series3 HD recorder is great and all, but it’s about time TiVo started talking about an HD DVR with even a semblance of competitive pricing — $800 + service just isn’t cutting it anymore, especially with Windows Vista’s CableCARD support looking oh-so-promising.

At GDC today, AMD announced a suite of tools for developing handheld gaming content for the company’s next-generation mobile graphics chips. These chips support the same Unified Shader Architecture as the Xbox 360’s ATI-designed GPU. Are phones the last stop here, or could the “Xboy” be on its way?

Ars analyzes the mysterious PhysX PPU from Ageia and reveals that it’s really a multicore architecture like IBM’s Cell. In the course of the article, Ars also explains how companies like Ageia, IBM, NVIDIA, and ATI would like to use economies of scale from the gaming market to break into the supercomputer market.

Every seen a CPU Cooler uses multiple TECs (also called peltiers) to help chill the liquid coolant running through it? This eliminates the need for a radiator and increases thermal capacity and provides for faster heat absorption at the source. This thing cooled an Intel Core 2 Duo below air temperature during testing! (18C is damn cool for a CPU)
