The company reported a net loss of $611 million on revenues of $1.233 billion, which is more than 20% below the guidance the company expected at the end of Q4 2006. The loss includes charges related to the ATI acquisition in the amount of $113 million, but is mainly a result of the increasing competition with Intel in the microprocessor market.

In this article MAKE magazine divides up electronic hardware into layers, each of which has different document types and licensing concerns: Hardware (mechanical) diagrams, schematics & circuit diagrams, layout diagrams, core/firmware, software/API - each layer has an example provided and links to many projects.

1TB is a lot. And if you’ve got $399 to blow, it can be all yours, with Hitachi saying Deskstar 7K1000 shipments have reached “critical mass” this month, after starting out scarce in March. We’re guessing if you need one terabyte of data, in a 3.5-inch enclosure, spinning at 7,200 RPM and hooked up to your computer, you know who you are!
